Working Group on Contentment
Continuously increasing material prosperity is generally regarded as the most important source of personal contentment and happiness. Social status is largely defined in terms of material prosperity. The working group “Maintaining personal and social contentment in conditions of stagnating or decreasing material prosperity” seeks to understand how individual contentment and the social status of a person are to be safeguarded in times of diminishing material prosperity.
